Introduced in 1982 as Nike’s first basketball shoe featuring Air Sole technology, the AF-1 was later reengineered for skateboarding, giving birth to the Nike SB AF-1. This low-top silhouette stays true to the original’s clean, minimalist aesthetic while adding serious performance upgrades tailored for skaters.

A lowered footbed and half-length midsole deliver enhanced board feel and superior forefoot flexibility. Air Max cushioning and memory foam collar padding provide comfort and impact protection, while a reinforced tongue and internal straps create a secure, locked-in fit. The refined toe profile and stitch-turned seams improve flick and control, and the grippy gum rubber outsole ensures reliable traction.
