Since Sector 9 was founded by surfers in Ja Jolla, California, it’s only fitting that their boards would be heavily surf-inspired throughout the years. This year’s Swell Photo Collection is no different. Ben Thouard’s is a wave photographer out of Tahiti, Sector 9 has featured his amazing photography on decks in the past. However, they’ve added to their growing list of watermen for this collection with photographer Phillip Thurston. Hailing from NSW, Australia, Thurston’s photos often feel more like paintings of fluid motion than captured images.
